English composer Christopher Wright (b. 1954) was educated at the Colchester Institute, Keswich Hall College of Education, Goldsmith’s College, and Nottingham University. He studied composition primarily with Richard Arnell, followed by later study with Stanley Glasser, Alan Bullard, and Nicholas Sackman. From 1997–93 he worked as a school music teacher until ill-health forced his retirement. Wright then devoted his efforts entirely to composition and has produced a catalog of works in many forms, including numerous orchestral works along with pieces of chamber music, choral/vocal music, and works for wind ensemble.
