Description: | Hymns to Help Us Through - Day 18 - “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”...
Good Thursday morning, friends!! Even though the camera is working again, I still had a couple of hick-ups - so I'm reaching back to last November for today's hymn. I'll never forget singing this in a packed Estes Chapel at Asbury Seminary and drowning out the massive pipe organ. I'll also never forget singing this while holding the hand of my new bride at our wedding!! What joyful memories in a dreary time!!
(By the way, you'll definitely want to use headphones - the sound of this pipe organ is amazing!! The words for today's hymn are below, in case you want to sing along!) :)
“All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”
Tune: Diadem
All hail power of Jesus’ Name!
Let angels prostrate fall, let angels prostrate fall;
bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him;
crown him, crown him, crown him,
and crown him Lord of all.
Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
ye ransomed from the fall, ye ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him;
crown him, crown him, crown him,
and crown him Lord of all.
Sinners, whose love can ne’er forget
the wormwood and the gall, the wormwood and the gall,
go spread your trophies at his feet,
and crown him;
crown him, crown him, crown him,
and crown him Lord of all.
Let every kindred, every tribe,
on this terrestrial ball, on this terrestrial ball,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him;
crown him, crown him, crown him,
and crown him Lord of all.
O that with yonder sacred throng
we at his feet may fall, we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
and crown him;
crown him, crown him, crown him,
and crown him Lord of all.
Amen.
Blessings, my friends! :)
