David Schelat (b. 1955) — A Little Fugue (from Suite in C) (2006) for organ
“Suite in C (Delaware Suite)” (2006) was originally written for a multi-composer anthology produced by the Delaware Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Schelat notes that the movements are based on forms and titles found in the English and French suites of J. S. Bach. However, each is re-imagined with the composer’s contemporary tonal (and modal) language.
American composer and organist David Schelat (b. 1955) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and educated at Ohio State University, the Eastman School of Music, and Syracuse University.
