This is my entry for the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest, week 62. I play "Flutes" by Vidas Pinkevicius (known from the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest website and as organduo here on the concert hall)). He is in the midst of composing an "Organ ABC", a composition for each of the letters of the latin alphabet. He dedicated the sixth composition from this series to me. What better way to return the honour than to perform this composition as best as I can?
As it is called "Flutes", I decided to use all 8 feet flute stops from this organ, coupled to the grand orgue. Only in the last two bars I use the other two manuals. The positiv for the flourish, and the Récit for the last chords. And since the Récit is under expression I close the shutters during the last chord.
