Emily R. Brink (b. 1940) was educated at Calvin College, the University of Michigan, and Northwestern University. She taught music at SUNY New Paltz, Trinity Christian College, the University of Illinois, and Calvin Theological Seminary. Brink also served in various editorial roles for the music and liturgical publishing divisions of the Christian Reformed Church in North America including as Senior Research Fellow at the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship and as editor of the periodical “Reformed Worship.” Brink is particularly known for her work in the field of hymnology and psalmody, having served as editor of three hymnals and as a consultant and lecturer throughout the world, especially in Asia. In 2004, Brink was named a Fellow of the Hymn Society, and she has held local and national offices in the leadership of the American Guild of Organists. |
