The chorale is sounded on the Recit. Trompette Harmonique 8' until the end, where everything is played on Recit Cor de Nuit 8' + Viol di Gambe 8' + Flûte Octaviant 4' but the chorale is mostly in octaves in the soprano and second alto. The devices used are typically Baroque but with a romantic harmonic vocabulary that is distinctly Reger's own.
