Composer: Bach, J. S.
Sample Producer: Audio Angelorum
Sample Set: Peterborough Cathedral Hill
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Baroque
Description:
Irreverently known in some circles as 'Uncle Joe has lost his trousers' (sing it to the fugue subject...) it is nonetheless an interesting and impressive piece.

Played here 'English Cathedral style', though Hill's scaling and voicing were a bit more classical than for example Henry Willis, and this still shows in the plenum I think.

The Prelude shows the plenum with Great and Swell coupled and Swell Sub-octave coupler for gravitas. The Fugue builds up from Great 8',4' + Swell 8',4',2', using the swell box to partly disguise the stop changes. The end sounds like full organ but is in fact far from it - being full to mixtures with just a few selected reeds and the Swell octave coupler for brightness.
