15 Choral-Vorspiele using choral motifs, Op.23
Grüel, Eugen
Born Pömmelte, Germany, Oct. 5th, 1847; Died. Potsdam, Jan. 4th, 1927.
Organist of the Holy Ghost Church, Potsdam.
That is the only information on this composer that I can find.
Played on two similar but very different organs but both with vast acoustics.
The composer takes only a line of the chorale as a theme so for example in #01 the first line is used but in #2 the fifth line is used.
An exception is #13 where the whole of verse one is distributed throughout the relaxed 6/8 piece.
09. Mache dich, mein Geist, bereit (quiet and calm)
10. O dass ich tausend zungen hätte (Allegro moderato)
11. O wundergrosser Siegesheld (solemn)
12. Sei Lob und Ehr dem höchsten Gut
