Fortunato Chelleri (1690 -1757) was an Italian Baroque composer. From his hand is a small bundle of 6 Fughe per il organo, composed around 1725. The sixth and last fugue is the most traditional of them all. Though the counterpoint is still not very strict (voices appearing and disappearing), it comes close to the traditional German model. Almost as if Chelleri, at the end of this collection wants to say to us: "I do know my counterpoint". The fugue still has a light, bright feel, so it is a fitting end to the collection.
