Donald Johns (1926–2013) — Consolation (Meditation and Intonation) (1998) for organ

American composer Donald Johns (1926–2013) was educated at the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. He also studied in Vienna, Austria. In 1957, he joined the music faculty of the University of California Riverside where he remained until his retirement in 1991. He also hosted a popular jazz radio program for KUCR (UC Riverside’s radio station) for more than 20 years. As a composer, Johns wrote in a number of genres; he was especially known for his music for the American Lutheran church.
