| Description: | Andreas Hantke (b. 1956) — Pastorale (1982) for organ
German composer and church musician Andreas Hantke (b. 1956) was born in Nuremburg and educated in Bayreuth and Munich. He served for 29 years as church musician at St. Johannes in Munich-Haidhausen and in 2009 became cantor at the Christuskirche in Munich. As a choral director, Hantke has led numerous concerts with his ensembles, including all works of the core choral choral repertoire. A particular interest has been children’s singing, and as such Hantke has been very active as a director of children’s choirs. As a composer, he has written primarily choral and vocal music including an oratorio (“Luther”) and more than 20 musicals for children. His output includes also music for brass ensemble and organ solo. Hantke’s compositions are published by Strube Verlag (Munich).
