This piece was composed ca. 1980 as a hymn introduction for use on the W Zimmer & Sons organ at First English [language] Lutheran Church in Columbia, Pennsylvania, now defunct. The organ, despite its size of fewer than 20 ranks, had a pedal 2’ flute. Perhaps it was a desire to justify this extravagance that led to the nasty double pedal in this piece.
The manuscript, not under copyright, is attached. |
