Filippo Capocci was organist at the Lateran church in Rome and a contemporary of Vincenzo Antonio Petrali (I will present a Petrali-project in the future). Capocci composed very fine organ music and developed a style going away from the opera style which usual for the organ compositions of his time (see my earlier Capocci-uploads). So it is a surprise to find elements à la Wagner and à la Verdi in his Toccata.
Capocci's registrations followed the Frech romantic tradition.
