Va, pensiero, sull'ali dorate

Hymn based on the famous chorus of the Hebrew slaves from Verdi's opera Nabuco. Arranged by Lorenzo Rossato and included as the last hymn in the Italian LDS Hymnal. LDS hymnals may have patriotic hymns at the end, and this is theirs. The members of our LDS congregation in Milan enjoyed singing it. It is said that in 1901 when Verdi died hundreds of thousands of Milanese lined the streets and sang this as his funeral cortege passed on the way to his burial place.
