Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag alio modo

Kauffmann's second chorale prelude to "Erschienen ist der herrliche Tag" has the chorale melody in the soprano voice. The other two voices weave a smooth flowing accompaniment using sixeenth notes running up and down. Perhaps they are meant as a symbol of Christ rising?

This is the 81st chorale prelude from Kauffmann's Harmonische Seelenlust. Only 15 left . I intend to publish the remaing 15 before the holidays. And then somewhere in september of october bundle them all inti a new edition of Kauffmann's complete Harmonische Seelenlust
