Some time ago I uploaded the last Contrapunctus XIV, with its completion by Helmut Walcha:

In that performance the full Poblet Metzler was used; the piece asked for it, being the culmination part of this magnificent and unique work.

The first Contrapunctus however is in 4 part writing.The registrations are therefore basic also.

I chose to omit the 16' Sub Bass in the pedal part to avoid enhancing one of the melody lines more than the other 3.

The Octaven Baß 8. Fuß gave the pedal just some more accentuation, without
influencing the other parts.

This is not easy listening music.
