Adriaan Valerius (1575-1625) was next to poet, official and later mayor of Veere.
He made a songbook (Nederlandtsche Gedenck-clanck) with 76 songs from the Eighty Years' (1568-1648)
The 5 songs that are played by me come from this bundle Nederlandtsche Gedenck-clanck.
The most famous song from this collection is the 'Wilhelmus', the later national anthem of the Netherlands.
