The hymn melody is bij Gerrit de Marez Oyens.
The following prelude is by Jan D. van Laar.
As the hymn is not often used and typically Dutch, the preceding hymn is played somewhat slow, to give the listener a chance to take in the melody.
The tempo in which it is usually sung is in the first part of the prelude.
As the first part of the Prelude is a kind of a tierce en taille, I played it on the Arlesheim sampleset that has the stops for it. The melody comes out very fine this way.
Jan D. van Laar studied the organ with Adriaan Engels. He also studied the piano. and theoretical subjects. He was the cantor-organist of the city church of Emmen.
He published music for the church, for children and various books about teaching music in schools.
