Johanna Senfter (1879 – 1961) studied violin, piano, organ, and composition in Frankfurt/Main. In 1908 she went to Leipzig and studied with Max Reger until 1910. She left 134 works, among them 9 symphonies and concertos for piano, violin, viola, and cello. Her musical remains came to the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne.
