Description:
Kauffmann’s prelude to “Treur Gott ich muss dir klagen” is a bit of a challenge for the listener. The choral melody is well hidden in the tenor voice and not easily discernable. The fact that Kauffmann prescribes the use of the 16 feet principal doesn’t help either. Watch the video to see the choral melody, which helps with actualle hearing it.
