| Description: | Kauffmann’s ‘Harmonische Seelenlust’ contains three preludes to “Wer nur den lieben Gott lässt walten”. Only one of them was written by Kauffmann. The other two were composed by Walther and inserted in the ‘Harmonische Seelenlust’ after Kauffmann’s death by his widow. This is the prelude that was composed by Kauffmann. Simple and short, only 18 bars, it does not fail to leave a profound impression. Though that’s perhaps more because of the fantastic choral melody (one of the most beautiful ever created), than because of Kauffmann’s composing.
