Kauffmann’s second prelude on “Nun lob mein Seel den Herren” is a fugue on the first phrase of the chorale melody, though on a smaller scale than his first prelude on the same melody. Though Kauffmann gives no indication on the registration to be used, I think it suits the piece to use a plenum registration. This piece is even more than the other one a strong statement on a solid believe.
Registration:
HW: Praestant 16′, Octaaf 8′, Octaaf 4′, Quintpraestant 3′, Mixtuur, Trompet 16′, Trompet 8′, Trompet 4′
RW: Praestant 8′, Octaaf 4′, Superoctaaf 2′, Mixtuur, Trompet 8′
