Description: | Yesterday I uploaded the Dutch national anthem (Het Wilhelmus) as it was remembrance day then.
Today, the fifth of May, is celebration day, because on that day most parts of Holland were freed and the war in our country ended.
I mentioned in that upload, that some music on the Wilhelmus was already on the concert hall, mainly by Jan Zwart.
As I myself had not uploaded that particular piece, and it is quite festive, I decided to give it a go.
It is a nice piece on he melody of the National Anthem, with a harmonization of Zwart in his recognizable personal style as the conclusion and intersected by a Dutch chorale on the melody of Genevan Psalm 134.
I'm not a specialist in Zwart's music. When I studied music, he was rather shunned in Holland in the professional field, quite undeservedly, as he was an excellent organist and wrote good music.
Lovers of Zwart on the other hand tend to make use of tremulants even on the full organ and play notoriously off beat, a style called "with feeling".
Can't do that, I'm afraid. I'm programmed differently.
So here's to the end of the war that was said to end ALL wars.
