Description: | Soon the great Feast of Pentecost will be upon us, and this is the perfect piece for the occasion.
Scripture tells of us a "rushing, mighty wind," and this aptly depicted in the highly-embellished right hand, played upon the Trompet 8' of the Hoofdwerk, which is beefed up a bit by the addition of the 8' and 4' principals, and the Tertiaan II 2′, which adds just the right amount of "fire" to the sound.
The left hand is played upon the 8', 4', & 2' principals of the Rugwerk.
The score is attached, as well as a photo of the only surviving portrait of Dietrich Buxtehude. |
