A few days ago I posted the first work I transcribed from “The Wöchentliche Nachrichten und Anmerkungen die Musik betreffend” and which I surmise is written by Johann Adam Hiller (http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/20201).
Today follows the second. It is a three part (trio) setting of the chorale “Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele”. The right hand part plays both the upper intermediate ‘instrumental’ sections, as the phrases of the chorale melody. On an organ with three manuals the chorale phrases could be played with a separate solo stop. The piece has no composer attributed to it in the WNA. I suspect the piece was written by Hiller. But I can’t be sure, hence the question mark.
