A member asked me to post these series as one upload rather than creating an individual file for each variation.
While I definitely see the point, I also suppose I intend for each impression to stand on it's own. So at the end of the "separate" uploads (five variations) I'll upload a "contiguous" version as well.
In addition to the tune I am also playing off the "ethos" and "logos" of the individual verses commonly associated with the tune.
In this case, the hymn text was written by Percy Dearmer (1867-1936)
Verse one is as follows:
Now quit your care
And anxious fear and worry;
For schemes are vain
And fretting brings no gain.
To prayer, to prayer!
Bells call and clash and hurry,
In Lent the bells do cry,
“Come buy, come buy,
Come buy with love the love most high.”
Please note this is the only in this first impression and the fifth and last where you will be able to find the tune more or less in its entirety.
