The precedent Choral is from Samuel Scheidt‘s »Görlitzer Orgeltabulatur«.
I love the Reincken composition very much, and it was one of my first recordings for the Contrebombarde Concert Hall in 2012.
This piece has some splendid features:
- a very noble »Melancholia«,
- some heroic moments which show the passed glory of the old Jerusalem,
- the perhaps most beuatifull final of a North German Baroque Choral prelude.
I played the Reincken piece last Sunday in a recital.
So I recorded it twice two days before (two separated recordings, which follow the profils of the Kampen and the Stade organ) for to see, what these organs can do for this music.
I prefer the Kampen recording for Reincken.
But both organs have merrits: Kampen with the large sound and the long reverb, Stade with the fine coulors of the stops.
I post this recording with a clear non-dedication to this person in Stade who stands behind the absurd discussion about the Stade organ model at HAUPTWERK VIRTUAL PIPE ORGAN > FORUM > CONTREBOMBARDE CONCERT HALL.
