I liked this short and brilliant hymn/anthem from the first moment that I heard it, but always hesitated to record it for ContreBombarde...
Maybe I did because I was waiting for a "special" occasion to do so, but since it was perfectly fitting the other pieces in my private New Year's Eve concert, I thought that there would be no better occasion than this one.
The ending is an improvised one, as I've never heard the "official" one...
Most interestingly, I discovered that the tune was written by two German composers about 24 years ago... Wouldn't have thought that -- it always sounded very "originally Scotch" to me...
