German composer Matthias Nagel (b. 1958) was educated at the universities in Herford and Essen and worked as an organist and choir director in Düsseldorf and Westphalia from 1984 through 2009. In 2011 he joined the faculty of the School of Church Music in Herford as lecturer in popular music. Nagel’s musical style combines elements of traditional classical music with significant influences from the world of popular music.
