Description: | Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor - BWV 582
The composition is one of the most important and best known of J. S. Bach, and has influenced the style of the passacaglia composed the next two centuries. Robert Schumann described the variations of the passacaglia as "intertwined so ingeniously to never end to surprise.
The obvious similarities between the work and the Bach Passacaglia in D minor BuxWV 161 by Dietrich Buxtehude suggest that Bach may have it made in 1706 in Arnstadt, just back from his trip made in Lübeck.
A great work of Bach on the day of St. Cecilia, dedicated to the innocent victims of November 13 - 2015, in Paris.
