Description: | This relatively short, but exciting "postlude" was composed by the 20 century Belgian composer, Marinus de Jong (1891-1984).
There is a fair amount of info about him on Wikipedia, but I was having trouble with the "translator", so I don't have any other "info" to give you about him.
The opening is improvisatory and festive, and the fughetta is concise and conclusive.
By the way, "Toccatino and Ricercar" is NOT a New Jersey law firm, specializing in handling "mob trials," but it WOULD be a great name for one... ;-)
These five "modern Belgian" uploads are dedicated to Jonathan Orwig (giwro), who sent me these fine pieces! THANKS, J!
Jonathan will be the "Featured Uploader" in an article soon to be released on "The Barde", so be sure to check it out! :-) |
