“Preludio e Ricercare”(2015) was written originally for harpsichord and here is an adaptation for organ. First part is a unmeasured prelude that recalls the "Stylus Phantasticus". Second part is a chromatic Ricercare (adagio) that reminds the Ricercares of the Renaissance time.
Carlotta Ferrari (b. 1975) is an Italian composer, organist, singer, and musical therapist. Educated at the Conservatory in Milan, she has composed in many genres. Ferrari’s music appears on several CD recordings, including an all-Ferrari organ CD recorded by Carson Cooman in 2014.
