Another for the Lenten hymn project - Bach's beautiful, very famous chorale. For the 3rd verse i use a somewhat more elaborate setting from the 371 4 part chorales. The original Latin text is attributed sometimes to Bernard of Clairvaux (1091-1153), sometimes to Arnulf of Leuven (died 1250). Quite a bit of info at Wikipedia. Uploaded along with this Bach's wonderful setting of the tune from Das Orgelbuchlein BWV 727.
