Here is my transcription of this famous harpsichord piece composed in 1717 by François Couperin.
It's a pitty he didn't compose organ music in the same taste than his harpsichord's musics.
First I tried dozen of different registrations in the original key of Bb,
but I had to admit that this piece was not for the organ in that key (too low, to dark, too pasty! )
So I tried to transpose it in other keys... I think Eb is a rather good solution for the organ.
Les Barricades Mystérieuses (the mysterious gates) ...
This enigmatic title could refer to the made-up eyelashes of the women in the royal court of Louis XV.
