This week I decided to record a contemporary piece, written by the the valued composer and CB member Carson Cooman (I can only advise everybody to have a look at the tremendous list of compositions available on his website).
His Diptych is a wonderful work, which can be used in service during communion (first part) and as a Sortie (second part). In my case, it was very well received by the congregation.
I thought that this piece really needed to "float", high above the ground, with some passages even well-suited for a Fernwerk, but I did not like the Doesburg in this particular case, so I chose the Bätz organ in Utrecht.
Regrettably, there is no voix celeste in the swell division, so I reached deep into my magic bag of tricks - the Baarpijp will never be the same ;-)
