Kaj-Erik Gustafsson (b. 1942) — Ramus virens olivarum (2006) for organ
Finnish composer and organist Kaj-Erik Gustafsson (b. 1942) studied at the Sibelius Academy and has served as organist and cantor at a number of churches throughout Finland. Gustafsson has also been artistic director for several festivals and taught at the Klemetti Institute.
“Ramus virens olivarum” (2006) is an organ fantasy on the song of the same name from “Piae Cantiones”, a 1582 collection of late medieval Latin songs published in what is now Finland.
