Tiento (2013), dedicated to Lois Regestein, is inspired by the keyboard masterpieces of the Spanish baroque, as typified by Cabanilles and others. In particular, this piece draws on the very free interplay and changes between metrical groupings (primarily duples and triples) that often occur in the Spanish baroque style.
