A student of clarence Dickinson, San Diego born Myron Roberts (1912-2004) was professor of organ at the University of Nebraska for over thirty years. Homage to Perotin (1956) was often found in organ concerts in the sixties and seventies but is not heard so often these days. As the title suggest, it pays homage to the 12th century Perotin Le Grand of Notre Dame de Paris. Perotin's daring, muscolar use jagged dissonance is reflected in Myron's bold, striding piece.
