Description:
I started writing this arrangement of “Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful” when I was in college, while in my mid 20’s, so it is was begun more than 40 years ago! At first it just had the three verses with a key change in between each. There was no introduction, no organ solo, and no repeat of the first verse with the descant.
It was quite a few years later, following getting married and moving across country to the Washington DC area that I added the other portions and only because the local choir director seemed willing to entertain using my arrangement as part of the church’s Christmas music program with the choir.

The introduction is done on the solo pedal and then builds up for the first verse with a key change.

The first verse is performed by both men and women in the normal key of G:
Oh, come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant!
Oh, come ye, oh, come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold him,
Born the King of angels.
Oh come, let us adore him,
Oh come, let us adore him,
Oh come, let us adore him,
Christ the Lord.

The second verse is performed by women and possibly children in the key of C:
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation;
Sing, all ye citizens of heav’n above!
Glory to God,
Glory in the highest;
...

The third verse is performed by men in the key of F, which sounds so wonderful following the previous high verse:
Yes, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be all glory giv’n;
Son of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing,
...
