Paul Edwards (b. 1955) — Trumpet Air, op. 367 (1997) for organ
English composer Paul C. Edwards (b. 1955) is a native of Bedfordshire and was a chorister at St. Paul’s Cathedral (London) and lay clerk at Peterborough Cathedral. He has served as organist and choirmaster for a variety of churches in Bedfordshire and is also very active as a composer, with a catalog of over 400 compositions. His non-musical hobby is a rather obscure field: the photographic history of motorcoaches.
As an editor, Edwards has produced a number of volumes of the first modern editions of obscure works of 18th century English organ music. Among his own compositions are also several works that are inspired by 18th century English models, such as this “Trumpet Air.”
