This is my first recording using the SIlver Octopus Willis Series 70 organ. The piece is interesting among Bach's works for several reasons; First, the entire first movement is monophonic - with a similar effect as his violin sonatas. Second, the middle movement (which is in five part harmony) at one point descends below the range of the organ (to a pedal B). I play this note by doubling the fifth (F#) to give the effect of a resultant bass. The final movement is a virtuosic passage with a pedal line that descends chromatically.
