Description:
John Hyatt Brewer was born on January 18, 1856, Brooklyn, New York, and died there on November 30, 1931. He is remembered as a composer, teacher and organist, who lived in Brooklyn all his life.

Beginning at age 15, he played the organ at a number of Brooklyn churches, including the Lafayette Avenue Church (1881-1931). He conducted many orchestras and glee clubs, and helped found the Brooklyn Apollo Club in 1878, becoming its conductor in 1903. He also helped found the American Guild of Organists, and belonged to the New York State Music Teachers’ Association. In 1899, he became a professor of music at Adelphi College.

I really didn't intend to make a "comparison recording," but it turned out that way! I can't say which organ was "easier" to play it on. Probably this one, as the "realistic delay" in the piston action made it more user friendly in a few awkward spots.

I know that many people enjoy MIDI files, so I attached one of these as well. It's fun to watch ALL the things going on in this piece - of which there are many!

In the MIDI performance, I used almost all the stops at the end, as I didn't one any of them to feel left out... ;-)

Each of these performances is a separate play through, so, it will sound a little different each time.

Watch the MIDI file! It's fun... :-)
