Account disappeared
Hello everyone: I'd like to report a rather unfortunate issue.
My dear friend Pietro Costa (known as "Pietro" in CB) recently wrote to me, saying, "Suddenly, my account disappeared, and with it, all my uploads (from 2011 to now) from the site. I can't figure out why, and I can't even communicate with other users on the site, because even communication between members requires an account."
Is it possible that his account was deleted by mistake? And, if so, is it possible to restore it?
Thank you so much for any input on this matter.

Also, accounts owned by Erzahler, Agnus_Dei and Grandjeux have dissapeared.

Thanks. In the meantime, I went to check this out: https://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/home/topic/560 and noticed that other accounts have also disappeared, along with all their content. It's a truly strange way to manage an online platform... I hope whoever is responsible will remedy this as soon as possible. I want to hope that they were not pro accounts, and as such paying.

Hi all,
Strangely similar, but not the same....all of my uploads from June, July and August have disappeared.
Does anyone know what is going on?

In a typical display of “it’s all about me”, I failed to notice that it appears to be EVERYONE’s uploads since the of May……

I've just seen that there is a banner when you enter the "browse" site:
To better protect our site, we have recently upgraded our security systems to guard against automated activity. Unfortunately, this process resulted in the loss of some recent data. We have been able to recover most in the past months. Users who are having issues logging in should now be able to do so. We truly regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding. Moving forward there will be some big changes to the site to ensure better security measures.

I don't know whether others are wondering about this, but I'm not sure whether to re-upload the pieces that I had uploaded since May which were lost - or wait to see if they come back by themselves?

I already startet to reupload the dissappeared pieces because I don´t think that the lost data will miraculously come back.
However, if the many lost uploads get actually recovered, which I consider impossible, I can always delete any duplicate posts.

I do still have all my old uploaded files from the past 3 months. For some I even have descriptions. I'll merely press onward for now, however. By my count, it's 18 that are gone. I can most likely get a lot of them uploaded with new material in some way, like thematically, and in fewer new postings. We'll see.
Most definitely, though, I am glad to see our friends are back again today! And so happy to hear that there are security guards in place going forward.

The banner explains what happened. All accounts should be back now. Hopefully the added security will stop the bots.
