Audio Glitches

Hello all. I recently started using an Audio Interface (Focusrite Scarlett Solo) to lower latency, and have begun hearing audio crackling. Hauptwerk (8) is not showing any CPU overload, and messing around with latency, polyphony, and sample rate has done nothing.

I have a Intel i5-4690k with 32 GB of ram running on Windows 10.

Is there someone who could give advice? Do I need a better Processor or is the matter something else?

Thanks,
Daniel

Scarlett Solo is USB-bus-powered, and I heard from several colleagues that they had problems with such a kind of interface. The better choice is to use an interface with a power source.

Hmm. That is an interesting point. I've also found out that my processor is from 2009. It's from an old gaming computer, so I might need to get an entirely new desktop

Well, after much internet searching, I've found the solution. I'll pose it here for anyone suffering the same problem.

I wish I had found this article earlier - it would have saved a week of frustration, especially because its tailored for the very interface I use.
