Hauptwerk Custom Organ Design Module - Hel

Hello,
Can anyone recommend someone who knows their way around the Hauptwerk definition files? I'm hitting brick walls with implementing a new sample set.
Thank you all!

Many thanks, Larason2. I really like your guide - I found this really helpful, but still need help. Do you know of anyone who might undertake work for me?

AmbroseChapel, I don't remember off the top of my head, but the topic has come up a few times on the Hauptwerk forum. You can try posting there again. There are one or two developers that do custom work along these lines, and I've heard good things about it. If you have a particular problem you can't get around you can post on the CODM portion of the Hauptwerk forum too. We can usually figure it out!

RE: Hauptwerk Custom Organ Design Module - Hel

I have raised this issue somewhile ago. Not only is the guidance provided impossible to read, but it is written with assumptions that all users are computer geeks (as opposed to mere organists and musicians). One great fault is using abreviations with no directory or explanation about what they are or mean.

If the CODM was demonstrated in a video then this might help greatly. Explaining how it works, and then demonstrating SLOWLY how to design a simple organ. This could help us to design and present many more useful instruments derived from the free sample sets.

It also dismays me that Hauptwerk seems to have moved to an eletist form of software available only by monthly subscription. This does not suit many younger organists or those who are retired or living on limited means, or who only use Hauptwerk occasionally.

John, Hauptwerk is also available as the advanced version, which is not a subscription. You can also download Grandorgue free, which has a lot of the features of Hauptwerk. You can also customize grandorgue ODFs, it's just a lot more complicated than the CODM.

As for the CODM, it is actually computer programming, which by its nature is complicated and requires some computer and programming knowledge. I actually started trying to make a step by step video, but after hours of trying to put it together I gave up and just wrote the guide I did instead. No one is paying me for the work I did, and it was just too much work. If you don't understand something, you can always ask on the Hauptwerk forum, and we can help you. There are also some applications available which help with programming CODM organs.

Hi Larason2!
Thanks for the link to your instructions in pdf. I have looked at them briefly, but will need to spend some time to thoroughly digest. But I have already seen so many things that I did not know about before and I am sure they are not in the manual. I need a severely rainy day to look at your instructions properly.

Picking up the thread again after a busy patch. I haven't managed to join the HW forum and I'm not receiving replies from the admin email.
From the look of Forum posts, there should be someone on there who can help with my specific queries. At the moment, I'm getting an error message about loop markers which doesn't make sense to me!

RE: Hauptwerk Custom Organ Design Module - Hel

Interesting to see this thread, sinve I have been playing around with the CODM lately and made a composite german romantic sampleset from free an demo sets. I can relate to the problems to understand the CODM an especially how to even start. I found much help in the guide to Larason, also in the homepage of Les Deutsch where he has several compsite samplesets sith source code. I also got a lot of good answers on the CODM forum of Hauptwerk: https://www.forum.hauptwerk.com/viewforum.php?f=13 I always got repleys quite quick.
I am actually thinking of making a tutorial video for the CODM on YouTube.
Your last question about loop markers , I guess, is for own recorded samples? I have not tried that yet myself, but interested to try once
