Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
Just an FYI …
I installed the latest version of Safari (v14), and discovered that it breaks the player widget on Contrebombarde. You can press that little "play" button all day, and it does nothing. Videos still play, and of course, it's always possible to download the mp3 to listen to it. Fortunately, I can boot into Windows 10 using Parallels, where everything still works ok.
I had a similar issue some time ago, when a recent version of Flash Player on the Mac also broke the widget for reasons unknown. Removing Flash, solved that problem, but Safari has now broken it on its own, with Flash not installed. Tried it on multiple Macs, and it's consistent across all of them.
There is, though, clearly some incompatibility with that widget and Safari 14. Hrmmmph …

RE: Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
Well, at least it is good to know it isn't just my own bad karma :)

Flash has been end-of-lifed by Adobe (see below) and most browser vendors. IMO it would be a good idea to make sure the html version of the player is the one used on all supported browsers and platforms, and fix any issues that may result.

RE: Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
I tested the main sample sets producer. - Can’t be played with Safari 14.0: Sonus Paradisi, Voxus (needing Flash plugin), AOV, Prospectum, PipeLoops (links to contrebombarde) - Can be played with Safari 14.0: Sygsoft, Piotr Grabowski, Jeux d’Orgues, OAM, Tarcisio Ferrari (embedded files) Andrea Bonzi, Inspired acoustics (links to YouTube), Maltese Historic Organs, Lavender Audio, Binaural Pipes (links to SoundCloud)

RE: Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
I was rummaging around and notice that our beloved CB actually uses a HTML 5 player - http://www.jplayer.org Flash free (fortunately!) However, I noticed it stopped working on iPhone also (same backbone as Safari - Webkit) Apple has clearly changed something in the background which is a shame. Fortunately on desktop we have alternative browsers - on mobile, nothing else. If anyone has any ideas for a workaround / way to listen to CB playlists on iPhone let me know (I'm considering downloading the files to play natively on the phone, but an online option would be nice!)

RE: Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
Jplayer currently supports both HTML5 and Flash. So it isn't all that clear that it's a webkit issue/bug specifically, except that Apple has dropped support for Flash. The sooner all the legacy Flash-encased materials are updated, the better.

Very true. Flash was great for its time. But it is indeed past time to move along :)

RE: Safari 14.0 breaks CB player
Hello everyone,
During the weekend we have received a few emails letting us know of the issue with Safari. It looks like we will need to update our player. Please give us some time to do this, as there are a lot of features that are using the current player and it will take us some time to apply and test the new updates or if needed implement a new player altogether. Thank you in advance for your patience.

"Currently fixing the Piece view page and updating the audio player. Please let us know if you are getting any issues with the new player. Thank you for your patience."
@CBadmin: Looks like my seekbar jump-to-timestamp link replacement regex needs an update. I'm working on it, but since this a closed-source paid/proprietary component, figuring out the details might take a little while.
