Upload limit too aggressive?

Hello,
I see we have new upload limits (no problem there) however I uploaded one piece yesterday (first piece in a week) and I'm told I cannot upload one today because of the upload limit. Anyone else having this problem? Surely 1 piece a day (only the second in a week) is not too much?

Or am I missing the boat: is this actually limiting everyone at the same time because the number of total uploads was too many? (If it's the latter case, I understand, although I'm still on the dash board and usually when we upload a lot I get bumped within a day, so that doesn't seem to be what's happening here.)

Correction: I did double-check and I see that it says to prevent a "flood from a single user". I think I hardly qualify as someone who "floods" the system, when other users upload multiple pieces a day. (Which I have no problem with.)

I saw this too - the limit used to be 6...

CBAdmin is free to set whatever limits they wish, (I'm just grateful to be able to post!) but it would be nice to have a public clarification on this....

I believe the limit is temporary.

There were users stringing out 6 after 6 after 6, and this, amongst other reasons, is the cause for what I THINK is temporary period of cooling down. :-)

I have no knowledge of the permanency, and also hope it will be relaxed/increased ASAP.

Peace to All.

Fair enough. I just found and read through the other thread. I just was surprised that a single upload 24 hours ago was enough for me to be flagged! While I haven't been a prodigious uploader, especially the preceding two years, I am a long-time member and I've donated umpteen times to help with the costs of maintaining the website. I was just really surprised (and confused why) I was flagged.

A user complained of a string of 6+6 Krebs uploads and then blamed them for blatantly advertising themselves. The admins said no rules were broken, the TOS were updated but no public apologies were made.

Hello.
I'm waiting for the new Pipeloops organ sound demo (Nagold).
When a producer comes with a new virtual organ, then he needs to upload more than one piece a day to promote his new product ...

Look forwarding to hearing this new set. But interesting you bring this up. So by rights, this means every upload is in fact a way to solicit members into purchasing sample sets and receive financial backing. It's promotion of their product.

RE: Upload limit too aggressive?

I think it is a good thing, that the upload limit is adjusted, though 1 upload a day is imho rather strict.
2 or 3 would be an acceptable amount, I think.

There were people uploading strings of six, under different names, though from the same source, which pushed other uploaders far down. That is unsporting behaviour to say the least.

I'm glad the administrators took action on this issue; often the big uploaders tried to acquire customers for some business of their own that way. That's not in the spirit of contrebombarde. They should start their own promotion website.

I think the concert should stay what it always was: a meeting place for musicians exchanging their music with others freely and without commercial activity.

Yes, you're right, but it was also a place to compare samplsets before buying them.

You might want to get your facts right. How can Vidas Pinkevicius and Aušra Mot?zait?-Pinkevi?ien? be the same source? They are two different people. How do you know the intentions of their actions? Krebs wrote a lot of compositions and the upload limit of 6 per account per day was followed.

I quote the CCH team:

"Hello everyone,

...There has been no one that has broken the current terms and conditions. Moving forward our terms and conditions will be updated to prevent any confusion in the future..."
