Description:

The Great Organs at First Church encompass many years of construction, culminating in one of the largest instruments in the world. Our sample sets offer this instrument in installments that may be combined to become the complete instrument.

The Great Organs at First Church began with the core E.M. Skinner organ that was installed when First Church built its towering, Gothic style church in 1931. This instrument initially had 55 ranks and 4 manuals. In 1969, the Skinner was greatly enlarged, and a large Gallery organ by Schlicker was also installed. An excellent history of the instrument can be found here under the "Great Organs" tab.

We offer two versions of the instrument. The first, a BASE sample set, encompasses the core of the Skinner as well as some of the 1969 stops, providing a fully featured 4 manual instrument which is usable with the Basic version of Hauptwerk.* The FULL sample set encompasses all of the ranks of the five Chancel divisions: Great, Pedal, Choir, Swell and Solo.

This sample set is offered only as a DRY sample set. All of the samples are from pipe ranks. The FCCLA instrument today incorporates several digital stops, but these are not included in the sample set. Samples were recorded at 96KHz 24bits, and all samples provided are 48KHz 24 bits.
