In this toccata based on the familiar Easter Hymn, Diane Bish revisits the passion of Lent with "O Sacred Head Now Wounded". I like to play Bach's "O Sacred Head" on Good Friday, and then start Easter Sunday with this toccata.
This posting is both "LIVE" and "MIDI". It was recorded LIVE to MIDI on Easter Sunday when I played it on our "real" 3/43, which is equipped with some HW compatible MIDI hardware. I brought the file home and had to re-register it for my Salisbury, and do some tricks to get "myself" to play on the "correct" manuals, but I think the result is pretty cool!
I prefer to play this at a hymn tempo; if I listen to Diane play it on YouTube, I would play it too fast, I think!
