Folio 39 of manuscript Ms Lynar B3 contains 4 small preludes. Yesterday I published three of them. Today follows the fourth and last one. The work is a bit longer than the other three. And to my ear also a bit more interesting. The composition is simple enough, yet a sweet melancholy pervades the music. It makes me wish it was'nt so short.
This prelude is also the last complete one from the manuscript. Of the last folio only the left half is bound in the manuscript and the last prelude is therefore incomplete. Luckily there are 9 manuscripts in de B series of the Lynar manuscripts (the A series contains harpsichord music). The other 8 are not as voluminous as B3, but hopefully contain equally interesting music. I look forward to transcribing them.
